Gateway Healthcare, RI’s largest nonprofit behavioral healthcare provider, is hiring a Manager -Children’s Services!  The Manager – Children’s Services will provide clinical supervision to Therapists working in homes with children & youth who have behavioral health challenges.  This role requires knowledge and competence in best practices for treating children who have general mental health disorders.

Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct client assessments, developing treatment plans and intervention strategies
  • Oversee team caseloads, conduct crisis assessments, and provide outpatient treatment as needed
  • Supervise specialty populations, including trauma & complicated grief, autism spectrum disorders, co-occurring disorders, eating disorders & other complex medical needs, and early childhood based on training and experience
  • Conduct and supervise the completion of comprehensive evaluations to formulate accurate diagnoses, monitor psychological status, and determine treatment and educational interventions
  • Oversee the development of treatment plans for children and youth with assigned populations, identifying appropriate practice guidelines
  • Supervise clinical staff in providing psycho-education to clients and their families, regarding diagnosis, treatment options and recommendations, and self-care techniques
  • Support clinical staff in their collaboration with other practitioners involved in client care, both within and outside of the agency, including child’s primary care physician and other medical and clinical practitioners
  • Provide general outpatient and outreach services according to assigned productivity levels, including both office and home-based individual, family, and group therapy, psychiatric rehabilitation and clinical evaluations using best practice treatment strategies effective for use with varying disorders
  • Perform crisis assessments on children and youth referred by schools, physicians, and hospitals to divert from use of the hospital emergency rooms, linking family into needed services and supports
  • Assist Clinicians to identify client and family needs that can be supported within the special education, Cedar or FCCP systems, and through other community-based resources
  • Provide clinical supervision and administrative oversight to assigned staff who treat children and youth with severe behavioral health disorders.  Supervision will include the monitoring and evaluation of performance, productivity, support, training, and guidance
  • Identify and establish procedures for, and monitor data systems needed to measure client outcomes; provide reports and analyses of aggregate data
  • Hire, trains, and evaluate program staff according to Gateway Healthcare policy
  • Make staff case assignments and coordinates staff schedules to meet the needs of children and their families
  • Ensure the clinical staff complete documentation of all client contacts in accordance with Gateway Healthcare’s policies and procedures
  • Prepare assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans for inclusion in clinical records according to Gateway Healthcare policy, including required timeframes
  • Complete review of direct event reports within required timeframe to ensure reimbursement
  • Monitor program budgets to ensure compliance with revenue and expense targets
  • Complete administrative tasks of approving timesheets, mileage, petty cash, benefit time, etc.
  • Participate on internal and external committees as requested by director
  • Participate in Gateway Healthcare quality assurance and research activities, providing leadership in program evaluation and improvement activities for assigned programs

Requirements:

  • Licensed independent practitioner (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, PhD)
  • Prior experience supervising clinical staff
  • Demonstrated expertise with specialized populations for whom they’re responsible (e.g., trauma & complicated grief, autism spectrum disorders, co-occurring disorders, eating disorders & other complex medical conditions, and early childhood)
  • Valid driver’s license and use of insured vehicle during normal working hours or other means of transportation in order to perform the major functions of the job
