Responsibilities: 

  • Complete biopsychosocial evaluation and include recommendations for a level and type of service based on current American Society of Addiction Medicine’s (ASAM) criteria
  • Provide consultation regarding client’s background, psychosocial functioning and needs to medical and support staff, in order to assist in planning a comprehensive care program
  • Develop treatment plans and initiate clinical intervention, utilizing individual and group treatment modalities, and analyze course and result of treatment.  Assist the client to attain the goals of his or her person-centered treatment plan for recovery
  • Educate staff regarding clinical intervention strategies related to symptomatology, substance use, sexual abuse, and family and relationship issues 
  • Monitor Medication to ensure client understands prescribed dosage, monitor side effects, and is taken accordingly
  • Coordinate activities & make appointments, which may include accompanying client(s), as noted on Treatment Plan
  • Work with clients to active participation in treatment, maintenance of a stable residence in community, development of ADL skills, development of social support network, and pursuit/obtainment of employment
  • Assist clients and families in understanding, accepting, and following medical and social work recommendations designed to restore the client to optimum functioning within their capacity.
  • Assess client and family advocacy needs and coordinates appropriate advocacy activities within the hospital and in the community with an emphasis on self-determination for the client system.

Requirements:

  • LCDP/or eligibility to test for LCDP upon hire, Bachelors or Master’s degree preferred, but not required for all positions
  • Maintain a valid RI license at all times and use of car during normal working hours, or other means of transportation to complete major functions of job
  • At least 2 years’ relevant experience working in the substance use disorder field or 1 year of clinical experience in a health or mental health setting preferred

Shift & Schedule:  M-F 8am-4:30pm

Location:  Johnston, RI & Pawtucket, RI

Compensation:  Compensation starts at $45,000/year and is commensurate with experience
