The first state-regulated overdose prevention center in the country is one step closer to opening in Rhode Island, and it could be as soon as this summer.
Project Weber/RENEW and its clinical partner, VICTA, announced Wednesday that they’ve secured a location at 45 Willard Ave. in Providence, next to Rhode Island Hospital. These centers are also known as safe injection sites or harm reduction centers.
