How to get emergency shelter in Rhode Island: Regional Access Points, year-round shelters, and help for families, young adults and domestic violence survivors.

    Need a place to stay?

To get a bed at a year-round shelter in Rhode Island, start at a Regional Access Point. Visit or call one of the access points below to complete a short assessment. After hours, leave a message and staff will call you back. If you can't get to one, call and they can send a street outreach team to meet you. In an emergency, you can also go straight to a shelter and ask for a bed: staff will let you in if there's space, or point you to a shelter that has one.

    Regional Access Points

Visit or call any of them, wherever you are in the state. After hours, leave a message and they'll call you back.

    Shelters

Most of these shelters are funded by the state and take new guests after an assessment at a Regional Access Point. Shelters for domestic violence survivors are listed by helpline only, because their locations are confidential.
